Under a Dog Star
We sit divided by bread
Beneath us the rug you wove
I still lack sense
Of keeping out of things
Laying my hand on your hand
But close contact
You disappear, the stain
Of your hand seeps into mine
Resolute to loving
Your abandoned soul
I get up and put the kettle on.

Tea making…yes it is what I turn to, but never in a poem before :)
Its a reference to my horoscope, the year of the dog. The older I get the most fitting it seems…
Nothing like a cuppa tho I have shifted to herbal and one builders cup is often more than enough these days…..this happened in 2012 and was a mega shift in my life :) truly
Hehe I’ve not reached the herbal tea stage, though I did give up smoking in 2011 and have never looked back.
